About the Texas Spatial Information System

The interactive Geographic Information System (GIS) maps found on this site were produced by the Texas A&M University Spatial Sciences Laboratory (SSL) in conjunction with various partners. Our goal is to provide readily accessible, easily used, interactive web-based maps of the state in a variety of formats that will be useful to natural resource managers, policy makers, and the public as a whole.

A wide variety of information is available through these maps, including:

  • Administrative boundaries
  • Transportation Infrastructure
  • Natural Resource Information
  • Health Information
  • Census and Agricultural Census Data

This is a small sample of the data types that are available, but is by no means a complete list. These maps are under continuous development and additional information will be added regularly. In addition, a self-guided tutorial is provided to help users begin to navigate through the maps quickly and easily.
